3 Fun Baby Shower Game Ideas

Baby showers are a great time to visit and party but it is tradition to play party games.  I know… everyone groans when the hostess says “Lets Play Some Games” but everyone ends up having a great time!  Here are 3 fun games that will liven up your group and get them moving around too!

1.The Waddle Limbo Game:
You will need to set up a limbo game (buy one or make-do with 2 chairs and a broomstick) and have the guests imitate the "mom-to-be's" waddle as they play the classic limbo game. You can award 2 prizes...one for the guest who waddled just like the mom-to-be and one for the guest who got the "lowest" during the limbo game.

2.Balloon Pop Game:
Cut slips of paper to measure 1/2" by 3" in size. Write baby-related names or baby quotes onto each slip of paper and fold it in half. With the final slip of paper you want to write the word "WINNER" on it. Insert one folded slip of paper into each balloon before blowing them up. Sometime during the party you will ask your guests to "pop" their balloons but they have to pop them with their feet. It is funny watching them all stomp on their balloons. The guest with the "Winner" slip of paper inside their balloon wins the prize.

3.The "D-Word" Game:
Hand each guest a slip of paper and a pen. Set a time for 5 minutes and ask the guests to write down a baby-related word that begins with the letter D. The guest that has the most words, wins. Examples: dirty diapers, diapers, dada, daddy, Desitin, diaper rash, diaper pins, diaper wipes, etc)

These fun little games will liven up your party and your guest will enjoy winning some little prizes too.  Have some fun!

Treasured Baby Shower Gift Ideas

Finding the perfect baby shower gift can sometimes make you go crazy.  Buying something straight off the rack or that is on the registry is the typical method and it is great!  But sometimes you want to find that something special for that new baby that will would be appreciated by the mom-to-be and is often over-looked as gifts at a baby shower.  Here are a few great ideas that make your gift very special and thoughtful.

* Baby Keepsake Box - You will find all kinds of baby keepsake boxes out in the retail marketplace at a variety of price points and made from a variety of materials. If you think the mom-to-be would like a one-of-a-kind baby keepsake box you can make one quickly and easily by purchasing a paper mache gift box at your local craft store and decorating it yourself or looking for a gorgeous wooden box that you can finish.

* Personalized Baby Blanket - All new moms appreciate a super soft personalized baby blanket. You can have the new baby's name embroidered onto the blanket and date of birth if the gift is purchased after the baby's birth.

* Personalized Photo Frame - Moms love to display photos of their new bundle of joy so giving them a new personalized frame with the baby's name beautifully engraved on it is a much appreciated gift.

* Photo Albums - I can't tell you how many baby showers I have attended in my lifetime where a new mom-to-be didn't receive a beautiful new photo album! A new photo album made just for baby pictures is an appreciated gift that the new mom-to-be will treasure forever.

* Gift Certificate for Professional Portraits - Once the new baby arrives many parents head on out to get professional portraits taken of their new bundle of joy. Present your mom-to-be with a gift certificate for professional newborn baby and family portraits.

Choosing one of the above items or creating something special yourself will be a truly welcome and treasured baby shower gift.  It is great fun celebrating the birth of a new child.  Go all out!
