How To Design A Baby Shower Invitation

How To Design A Baby Shower Invitation

How To Design A Baby Shower Invitation

A baby shower is one of the special events in the life of a mother to be shared with friends before the actual birth. Invitations should set the mood and make this occasion memorable to everyone present.

This baby shower usually happens a month or two in advance and making the right invitation can be just as challenging as planning the entire event.

One can get an invitation that has been made by a card company but for it to be special, it is best to choose a design then have it custom made, such as hire a graphic designer like B.Ireland Designs. Since the host is usually a very close friend of the mother, that person can talk to the mother and other members of the family what kind of theme will be appropriate for the party.

After getting all the ideas in and finally choosing what theme will be used, the friend will already have an idea what kind of invitation it is and how it will look like.

For a girl, the theme could be a star which could highlight the future. An invitation can be shaped into a star with the nursery rhyme song inside.

For a boy, the theme could be a cowboy. An invitation can be made with the design of a cartoon character in the front and other special details inside.

An invitation can also be made depending on the season. In the summer, with the weather being a bit humid, the ideal theme will be a summer shower that comes with a lot of ice cream. The invitation can be made in the shape of an ice cream.

Just like any other invitation, it should have the name of the person to be invited, when and where the event will take place, the contact number of the one hosting the event and the gender of the baby if this is applicable.

The invitations must be given out a month up to a month and half prior to the event itself. This will give people time to make plans for that day and pick the right gift.

Babies are cute, smell good, can be quiet and the noisiest at certain times. It is all part of the phase of the baby growing up. There are other ideas and themes one can think of to make the invitation a good preview of what is to come during the baby shower itself. It just takes some planning and little imagination to make this baby shower stand out over others that people have gone to.

The host can do the planning alone or brainstorm with friends in picking the right invitation then having it made by the printers. When that is finished, the other details after that should already quite easy such as the food for the occasion, the registry of gifts for the party, and the prizes for the games to be played.

If the person needs help, then a professional can be called to assist in the entire process.  With the many themes and invitations that have been done in the past, this usually comes in a package that includes a planner to help guide the person along.  The host can find this people in the neighborhood or check online.

By comparing the packages and prices of the various companies that do this, one will surely get value for money for this special event.

Instructions On How to Make a Lil Baby Diaper Cake

Easy to make!
These little baby diaper cakes are a cute inexpensive way to welcome the new baby. Not only are they easy to make, but in person the cute factor is just as huge when presenting a three layer diaper cake.
So let's get to the instructions:)

Items you'll Need:
Cake container
Shred
Ribbon
30x30 Baby Blanket
A pair of booties
Diapers size one
Double sided tape ( YES going against my no tape rule:)
Poster broad (large size) cut a strip off at 4" in height

To begin, open baby blanket and place the inside of blanket facing down onto your counter top. Place strips of double sided tape onto your strip of poster board , you'll need about four along the edge of strip.Place baby's blanket edge ( starting from the top) over the tape and strip of poster broad... now just flip, roll til you reach almost the end.Do the same thing with the tape only this time it will go on the blanket.

You should end up with something looking like this.

This method works especially well if you have a decal you want to show on the baby blanket.

Filling the ring with diapers: This is where your going to prepare your ring (template) Your going to place ring onto the plate of container. You want to leave enough room for expansion after diapers are placed inside. When you began placing diapers inside this adds another inch or two to your ring, so you don't at this point want the ring to go over the plates bottom.

Load the diapers:): Okay so now, you want to pin the template so it doesn't become loose. Place diapers inside making sure you smooth out the templates inside, you don't want a lumpy and bumpy cake.

Line diapers along side blanket evenly and try not to overlap them to much. Leave enough room in the center, to place cello or tissue paper.

Prepare Cakes top: Take your shred and place it inside cakes containers top make a hole as you push most of the shred to all sides of the container. Place the booties upside down into the center to see how this will look.

Looking good! Take booties out and let's go on to the next step!

Putting it all together now!
Okay so the hole you left in the center of your template, take your cello, or tissue paper, ball it up and place this inside the hole. Push it down into your template, and make sure you feel it hitting the bottom of containers plate.

Take your double sided tape and place on bottom of booties, place them on top of cello or whatever you used, make sure they are secure.Make any adjustments at this point because next your going to flip it:) You can do it!:)

Let's flip it and finish! Pick up the cake. Turn it upside down and place inside the top ( of cake container). You can take out the pins now, but be careful with the top, just push it slightly so you can get your hand in there and take pins out. Or you could leave them, up to you.

This is how your cake should now look. Gently push down on cake to make sure it's in there, you can also lift it up and look at it make sure booties are peeking through. Keep it just like that, snap bottom plate on and your good to go!

Here are some other styles I made.
